I don't do this much (writing reflections) but some things that happened recently make me think that i have to write one this year.
Sometimes love can really make us act foolish. Do unreasonable things, things that - in our normal condition - we wouldn't do.
May be that's why they say that : "love is blind" or "this feeling is driving me crazy" etc etc
A good and close friend of mine have been having harsh time these days for being such a lovefool.
We've told him things like :
"What are you doing?"
"Why did you do that?"
"You do understand that what you're doing now could be for nothing rite?"
"That's just doesn't make any sense!"
But he just won't listen. He just keep on believing that what he's doing is the best thing that he could do right now.
"I don't want to stop believing."
"I'm doing this, because i want to do this! This is what i want!"
"It's because i know that i'm in love. And it's not for nothing"
so he said..
Then I realize a very reasonable formula to describe this 'phenomenon' :
"unreasonable action + blind emotion = stupid action" but
"unreasonable action + love + consciousness <> stupid action"
i won't say that it's a smart move. but it's not stupid.
Sometimes i wondered why whould've God came to earth as a poor man, with a mission to sacrifice Himself
in exchange for our freedom from our own sins. We, humans, were the one who abandoned Him at first place.
And compared to Him or compared to this whole universe, we are nothing more than dust
I mean, why bother came down to earth? He's powerful enough to forgive our sins far away from heaven..
But He know that love can't be proven merely by words or thoughts. It also take real actions and lots of sacrifices
Without Him coming down to earth, born as a poor man. Live a quiet short and heavy life.
Humiliated and died in a such barbaric way. He want to prove HIs love to us.
Words like :
"I love so much that i would've died for you. I'd sacrifice everthing for you.
I'd go anywhere for you. etc etc"
will be meaningless unless it's proven true.
We'll be like "Yeah dude, whatever you say." If he didn't make christmas come true..
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15 : 13
Love need real actions to make it real. Even if for others those actions may seems illogical,
but it must be very logic and very make sense for the one who's doing it
I'd like to promise myself that i would never call my friend stupid again for fighting for his / her love.
I'll change it from "awesomely stupid" into "stupidly awesome and stupidly beautiful"
I'm glad that Jesus would come down to earth. Leaved the heavenly throne and was born at a very dirty stable.
Almost got killed when He was a baby. Lived as a humble carpenter's son. Felt hunger, anger and even fear.
Faced temptation. Backstabbed and double-crossed by his close person. Mocked and got spit at.
Unfairly accused and felt how is it to be left behind all alone.
I don't have to mention how He tortured and died 'cos we already know it.
But i realize that His whole life was lived to prove one thing : that He's so deeply in love to us
A love so deep that He doesn't care if the object of His love think that He's just some looney carpenter's son who didn't know where He belonged.
Just like what would we do for our loved ones. People that we will truly say to :
"For you, i'd go anywhere you want me to go."
"For you, i'd give everything."
"For you, i'd do anything."
"For you, i'd be anyone you want me to be."
God had done things even much more than that. He would've become a complete 'lovefool' for us. Because I think that's how love works
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone =)
